The studio
Databloom Studio is a trading name of CB Eng Consulting Ltd, registered in Scotland. It is deliberately small — the person who designs a screen writes it, ships it and answers the mail about it.
We work on applications that have to be right rather than merely finished: the sort where a wrong pixel is a wrong idea, and a half-second of lag turns understanding into guesswork.
Everything is computed on the device. It costs us features that would need a server and buys something we consider worth more — software that behaves identically on a train, in a lecture hall with no signal, and five years from now when whatever we might have hosted is long switched off.
No accounts, no advertising, no analytics. A study tool has no business knowing who is studying.
Android development
Native applications written and maintained here — animation loops, state machines, release engineering and the compliance work Google Play asks of a publisher.
Process animation
Turning an operation into something a person can follow: what moves, in what order, at what speed, and which single frame is worth pausing on.
Curriculum design
Explanations and worked cases written next to the software rather than bolted on afterwards, so the wording and the behaviour never disagree.
Publishing and support
Store presence, releases and correspondence for everything in the catalogue. The address in Contact reaches a person, not a queue.
Structviz
Data structures you watch working instead of reading about. Pick a stack, queue, linked list, binary search tree, heap or hash table, run real operations on it, and every push, pop, insert, delete and search plays out step by step as the structure rearranges itself.
Animated operationsNodes link and unlink in a list, a value bubbles into place in a heap, a key hashes to its bucket and a collision chains off it.
The code, in stepReal source shown alongside with the current line highlighted as the animation runs, so cause and effect stay attached.
Your paceStep through an awkward case one move at a time, or let the whole operation play out on its own.
Six side by sideA comparison screen with complexities, for when the question is why a hash lookup is fast and a list search is not.
A check that it stuckShort quizzes ask you to predict a result or match a structure to its behaviour.
Entirely offlineNo account, no connection, no advertising, no analytics — progress lives on the device.
